Kanban As My Secret Weapon for Productivity

As an infrastructure project manager, juggling priorities is second nature. But recently, I’ve taken my love for organization to a new level: Kanban. It’s not just a tool for work—it’s become a way of life. From managing complex projects to planning weekend chores, there’s nothing I do that isn’t captured on my Kanban board.

And I’m perfectly fine with this obsession. Why? Because it works. No stress, no overwhelm—just clarity and focus.

Greg McKeown, in his book Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less, wrote, “If you don’t prioritize your life, someone else will.” Kanban is my antidote to losing control of my time. It’s the simplest and most effective way to prioritize tasks, stay focused, and maintain a bird’s-eye view of everything on my plate.

For my digital boards, Trello is my go-to. It’s intuitive, versatile, and integrates seamlessly into my workflows. I’ve explored other tools like Kanban Tool, ClickUp, and Monday, and while they each have their strengths, Trello keeps winning me over for its simplicity and ease of use.

The beauty of Kanban lies in its adaptability. Whether it’s breaking down complex infrastructure migrations or tracking personal development goals, it helps me visualize progress, spot bottlenecks, and ensure nothing slips through the cracks.

My experience has shown me that a well-managed Kanban board is more than a productivity hack—it’s a strategy for success.

I’m ready to bring this obsession to a new role, helping software development teams stay organized, efficient, and focused on delivering value. With Kanban at the core, I’m confident in my ability to transform chaos into clarity.
